President's Letter - 1/23/2025
Hello CRCC cutters!
I’m sure you’re as excited as I am about 2025 cutting season. First show is February 22 at Salem Saddle Club. It’s coming up fast and I need to get on my horse a little more.
We have a new secretary this year. We want to thank Kady for all she did for us the last couple years. It was a tough transition with challenging challenges and new computer program and she got us lined out for success with a smile. Thank you Kady! Our new secretary is Jess Humphrey. She’s cutting in the ranch and is from south west Portland. You’ll be seeing some stuff in the mail from her and see her at the shows.
As usual I’d like to thank Colemans for the use of their cows. Can’t do it without them. Also all our turn back help. If you want to help turn back ,bring an extra horse and we can teach you. Thank you to all our sponsors! We need the sponsors to ensure we have sand, awards, computer program and several other important extra things.
Check out our website ColumbiaRiverCuttingClub.org. Don’t forget it’s .org. We will be able to accept entries online soon.
Ok cutters, go get em

Scott Tuggle - President
Hi Cutters,
I will be your president for 2025, and I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. I grew up mostly in Woodburn, Oregon and after graduating from OSU with BS in business I married my high school sweetheart Cara Rose Tuggle. From there I was a field representative for a grass seed company and then started a trucking company in 2006. I am retired from that now and I help Cara run the horse training facility. Being married to Cara, I have had my finger on the pulse of the cutting industry for 35 years. I have seen the ups and downs and feel we are in an upswing now. This means more cutting and more fun. I spent several years training to ride my mule in the woods hunting and trail riding. After retirement from trucking, I decided to start cutting. After all, I do have a close relationship with a trainer. Looking forward to meeting and seeing everyone in 2023.
Thank you,Scott Tuggle
